Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions contractors ask us, from how STRACTA fits your workflow to the AI, the field and getting started. Have another question? Ask our team.
Your workflow
Who STRACTA is for, and how it fits the way your company runs.
Who is STRACTA for?
Construction companies across Canada that coordinate crews, heavy equipment and trucks across active jobsites: asphalt paving, road construction, civil, excavation and earthworks, and multi-crew contractors.
It serves the office (owners, operations managers, dispatchers and project managers) and the field (foremen, operators, drivers and labourers).
How does STRACTA fit the way we already work?
STRACTA is built around your workflow. Every client gets a version shaped to its crews, roles and workflow, because no two construction companies run the same way.
Your version is set up with your projects, people, crews, equipment and trucks, and with the terms your team already uses, so the board looks like your day. A paving company leans on broker trucks and plant timing; an earthworks contractor on equipment moves.
The platform
Dispatch, changes, production and the record of every day.
What is STRACTA?
STRACTA is AI-powered operations software for construction companies, built around how each company works. The office plans and publishes the daily dispatch for crews, equipment and trucks. Foremen and crews see their part on a phone, report field issues and record daily production.
Tell STRACTA what you need, out loud or in a sentence, and it builds it into your dashboard. Everyone works from the same plan, and every day leaves a record.
What happens when the plan changes after it is published?
The dispatcher edits the assignment and publishes an update, which becomes a new revision of the day's dispatch. Affected users get an in-app notification, and the change shows in their My Day.
Every revision stays on record, so it's always clear which plan is current and what changed.
Does STRACTA track production and materials?
Yes. Foremen record daily quantities, hours and photos from the field. Each project carries a production baseline, so a project manager can see progress against the plan the same day.
Materials records cover planned and recorded deliveries and installed quantities, and Reports and History keeps every day's record, with supported data ready to export.
Tell STRACTA what you need
How the AI turns a spoken or typed request into a record on the board.
How does the AI in STRACTA work?
Tell STRACTA what you need, out loud or in a sentence, and it creates the record in your dashboard.
For example, “Assign Marco D.'s crew and paver PV-03 to Harborview Corridor tomorrow at 7:00 AM” becomes an assignment on the board, so nobody punches in the details by hand.
What can I ask STRACTA to create?
Assignments on the daily dispatch, broker truck bookings, equipment moves and tasks. Each one appears as a normal record in the right place, filled in and ready to review and publish.
Do I have to type, or can I just say it?
Either. Say it from the truck or type it at the desk. Your version of STRACTA knows your projects, crews, unit numbers and roles, so it understands requests the way your team talks about the work.
Phones and the field
My Day, the five field tabs and how the field reports back.
Does STRACTA work on a phone?
Yes. STRACTA is web-based. Office teams work on a computer, and field users sign in on their phones and use the field interface, built around five tabs: My Day, Report, Chat, Tasks and More.
What does a foreman see in My Day?
The day's assignment: the project, the crew start time, the first load, the equipment and trucks, and the work planned. From the same screen, the foreman acknowledges the assignment and can report a field issue.
At the end of the shift, the foreman records daily production from the Report tab.
How does a field issue reach the office?
The foreman reports it from the phone, for example a broker truck down at the paver. It appears as an attention item for authorized users in the office.
The dispatcher can then change the assignment and publish an update, and the affected crews see the revised plan in My Day.
Roles, access and data
Who sees what, how people join and how your records are kept to the right people.
Can we control who sees what?
Yes. STRACTA uses role-based access. Administrators invite users, assign roles and manage permissions, and each person sees what their role allows.
Your version of STRACTA is set up with the roles your company actually uses, from the owner and the dispatcher to foremen and field crews.
How do people get access to STRACTA?
Your company's administrators invite them. Each person joins through their invitation and is given a role, which decides what they can see and do.
Already a user? Use the sign-in link your administrator gave you. Our Support page explains the steps.
How is our data kept to the right people?
Through role-based access and permissions. Each person sees and changes only what their role allows, and your administrators decide who joins and which role they hold.
If your team has a security questionnaire, bring it to your demo and we'll go through it with you.
Getting started and support
Setting up your version of STRACTA, and working with us after launch.
How do we get started?
Start with a demo. We walk through a day like yours, with your crews, equipment, trucks and jobsites in mind.
From there, we shape your version of STRACTA with your team: your projects, people and crews, company fleet, equipment, trailers and attachments, the broker trucks you book and the roles your company uses. Setup steps and timing depend on your operation, so we plan them with you.
What happens after launch?
We keep working with you. Your administrators can reach us with questions, help for new users and changes as your crews, roles and workflow change.

Demos and pricing
What to expect when you talk to us.
What happens in a demo?
A person from STRACTA walks you through a day like yours: dispatch, telling STRACTA what you need, the field phone, attention items, production and reports.
Book through the demo form. Tell us your contractor type, your approximate team size and the main challenge you want to solve, and someone from STRACTA will contact you to arrange a time.
How much does STRACTA cost?
Every version of STRACTA is built around the company using it, so we walk through pricing for your operation in your demo.
Still have a question?
