Team Communication

Chat, tasks and documents, kept with the job instead of in group texts. When something changes on site, the conversation, the follow-up and the files all belong to the same job. Team Communication keeps them together: channels in Team Chat, owners and deadlines in Tasks, and project files and photos in Documents.

The Harborview Corridor project channel, where the foreman reports the truck breakdown and the dispatcher replies that the update is published.

The modules in Team Communication.

Each module has its own page, with a short workflow, the roles that use it and answers to common questions.

  • Team Chat

Company, project and crew channels, so job talk stays with the job.

Team Chat gives each project and crew its own channel, plus channels for the whole company. The foreman, the dispatcher and the office talk in the same place, from a phone or a desk, instead of a group text someone was left out of.

    What it does

    • Company channels
    • Project channels
    • Crew channels
    • On the phone and at the desk
    Explore Team Chat
  • Tasks

Follow-ups with a name and a deadline, in the office and on the phone.

Tasks turn the follow-ups that usually get lost in phone calls into work with an owner and a deadline. Field users see theirs in the Tasks tab on a phone.

    What it does

    • An assignee on every task
    • A deadline on every task
    • Tasks on the phone
    • Tell STRACTA what you need
    Explore Tasks
  • Documents

Project files and photos, kept with the job they belong to.

Documents keeps project files and photos with the project. Your team looks in one place instead of an inbox, a shared drive and someone's camera roll.

    What it does

    • Files by project
    • Photos with the job
    • Access by role

How they connect

How they work together through the day.

  1. Step 01

Talk it through in the channel

At 10:21 AM Marco D. posts the breakdown in the Harborview Corridor channel. Dana K. replies at 10:41 AM, and Frank O. confirms in the Ridgeline Road channel at 10:43 AM.

  2. Step 02

Turn the follow-up into a task

The load BT-02 couldn't place still needs sorting out. Task T-119 gives Dana K. the reconciliation with the plant and the broker, due Wednesday at 12:00 PM.

  3. Step 03

Keep the files with the job

Harborview Corridor's project files sit with the project, and the photo from the 3:30 PM production entry stays with the job's record.

FAQ

Questions about Team Communication.

How do updates reach people?

Inside STRACTA. Chat and tasks stay in the app, and updates to the dispatch reach the affected users as in-app notifications.

Can field crews use chat and tasks on a phone?

Yes. Chat and Tasks are two of the five tabs in the field interface, with My Day, Report and More.

Why not keep using group texts?

Group texts work until someone is left off the thread. Channels for the company, each project and each crew keep the conversation with the job and the people on it.
