Plan the day

Daily Dispatch

Plan the day's crews, machines and trucks on one board, then publish it. Daily Dispatch is where the office builds the day: every project with its crew, equipment, company trucks and broker trucks. Publish it when it's ready, and publish an update when the plan changes. The people affected get an in-app notification.

The daily dispatch for Tuesday, June 16, published at 5:45 AM as revision 1, assigns crews, equipment, company trucks and broker trucks to four projects.

Problems solved

Where the day breaks down.

  1. The plan sits on a whiteboard

Tomorrow's assignments get built on a whiteboard or a spreadsheet, then read out over the phone. Whoever missed the call shows up at the wrong job.

  2. A change reaches half the crew

A weather call moves the first load, or a truck breaks down. Some people hear about it, some don't, and the paver waits.

  3. Nobody knows which plan is current

After two changes, the dispatcher, the foreman and the broker each have a different version of the day. Sorting it out costs the morning.

What it does

What Daily Dispatch does.

In plain terms. Your version of STRACTA is shaped around how your team works, so bring your own workflow to the demo.

  • Plan by project

Each project gets a card for the day with its crew, equipment and fleet, and broker trucks. Every project sits on one board, so you see the whole day before anyone leaves the yard.

  • Tell STRACTA what you need

Say it out loud or type it in a sentence. STRACTA creates the crew assignment for you, filled in and ready to review.

    Operations manager says

“Assign Marco's crew and paver PV-03 to Harborview Corridor tomorrow, on site at 7.”

    How telling STRACTA works
  • Draft, then publish

Build the plan as a draft. When it's right, publish it, and the people on it see their assignment in My Day.

  • Publish updates as revisions

Edit an assignment after publishing, then publish an update. Each update becomes a new revision, so it's clear which plan is current.

  • Notify the people affected

When you publish an update, the affected users get an in-app notification. The change reaches the people it applies to, inside STRACTA.

Workflow

How a day runs.

Daily Dispatch on one working day, step by step.

  1. Dana K., dispatcher

Reviews four project cards, from Harborview Corridor to Bellwether Pointe, and publishes revision 1: 24 people, 12 pieces of equipment and 10 broker trucks.

  2. Marco D., foreman

Opens My Day for Harborview Corridor: crew on site at 7:00 AM, first load at 9:30 AM, 320 t of HL3 planned. He acknowledges at 6:12 AM.

  3. Marco D., foreman

Reports broker truck BT-02 down at the paver. The hoist hose failed and the loaded box won't raise.

  4. Dana K., dispatcher

Removes BT-02, moves BT-08 over from Ridgeline Road and publishes revision 2. Marco D. and Frank O. get an in-app notification.

FAQ

Questions about Daily Dispatch.

Can we change the dispatch after it's published?

Yes. Edit the assignment and publish an update. The update becomes a new revision of the day's plan, and the affected users get an in-app notification.

Who is notified when the plan changes?

The users affected by the change, through an in-app notification. In the example above, that's the two foremen whose trucks changed. The updated assignment is waiting in their My Day.

Can we add assignments by voice?

Yes. Tell STRACTA what you need, out loud or in a sentence, and it creates the assignment on the board with the crew, equipment and on-site time. Your dispatcher reviews the day and publishes it when it's ready.

Can company trucks and broker trucks go on the same dispatch?

Yes. Each project card has a section for equipment and fleet and a section for broker trucks, so owned and hired trucks are planned on the same board.
