Fleet and Equipment

Company trucks, machines, trailers, broker trucks and moves, planned together. Paving and civil work runs on machines and trucks, owned and hired. Fleet and Equipment brings company fleet, equipment, trailers and attachments, broker trucks and equipment moves into the same plan as the crews. Machines and trucks go on project cards, and moves bring the machine, truck, trailer and driver together.

Move MV-0616-01 takes paver PV-02 from Talbridge Logistics Centre to Bellwether Pointe on float FL-01 behind tractor TR-02 with driver Dev R., available at the destination at 6:30 AM Wednesday.

The modules in Fleet and Equipment.

Each module has its own page, with a short workflow, the roles that use it and answers to common questions.

  • Company Fleet

Your own trucks, each with a status, on the same plan as everything else.

Company Fleet holds the trucks and vehicles you own, from tack trucks to float tractors, each with a status. Assign them to projects on the daily dispatch or to an equipment move. Hired trucks are handled separately in Broker Trucks.

    What it does

    • One list of company vehicles
    • A status on every unit
    • Trucks on the dispatch
    • Tractors on equipment moves
    Explore Company Fleet
  • Equipment

Know which machines can run tomorrow and which job each one is on.

Equipment keeps every machine by unit number, with its operational availability. The dispatcher assigns machines to projects on the daily board and plans a move when a machine changes jobs. Operations sees how many pieces are on jobs.

    What it does

    • Every machine by unit number
    • Operational availability
    • Machines on the dispatch
    • Moves when jobs change
    Explore Equipment
  • Trailers and Attachments

Floats, brooms and planer heads, kept as records of their own.

Trailers and attachments are easy to lose track of because they move between trucks and machines. STRACTA keeps them as their own records, so a float or a broom isn't just a note on something else. Trailers go straight onto equipment moves.

    What it does

    • Trailers as their own records
    • Attachments as their own records
    • Trailers on equipment moves
    Explore Trailers and Attachments
  • Broker Trucks

Book hired trucks for the day, put them on the job and swap one when it goes down.

Most paving days depend on trucks you don't own. Broker Trucks records the brokers, their trucks and each day's bookings, and puts every booked truck on a project card in the dispatch. When a truck goes down, swap it and publish an update.

    What it does

    • Brokers and their trucks
    • Daily bookings
    • Tell STRACTA what you need
    • Broker trucks on the dispatch
    • Swap a truck and publish
    Explore Broker Trucks
  • Equipment Moves

Machine, truck, float, driver and the time it must be ready at the next job.

An equipment move needs more than a machine and an address. STRACTA plans each move with the machine, the truck, the trailer, the driver and the time the machine must be available at the destination. Each move keeps a movement status and records the custody change.

    What it does

    • Plan the whole move
    • Destination availability time
    • Tell STRACTA what you need
    • Movement status
    • Custody changes

How they connect

How they work together through the day.

  1. Owned and hired on one card

Harborview Corridor's card carries four machines, tack truck TK-01 and three broker trucks. Equipment, Company Fleet and Broker Trucks all go into the same published plan.

  2. A truck down, a truck swapped

BT-02 is out of service at the paver. The dispatcher moves BT-08 from Ridgeline Road to Harborview and publishes revision 2, and both foremen get an in-app notification.

  3. Tomorrow's machine is planned

Move MV-0616-01 brings together paver PV-02, float tractor TR-02, lowbed float FL-01 and driver Dev R., with PV-02 available at Bellwether Pointe by 6:30 AM.

FAQ

Questions about Fleet and Equipment.

Can we see owned and hired trucks for a job together?

Yes. Company trucks and broker trucks go on the same project card, so the full truck count for the job is in one place, next to the crew and the machines.

Why are broker trucks separate from the company fleet?

Because they work differently. Company trucks are yours; broker trucks are booked by the day through a broker. Both go on the same project cards.

How do we plan a machine's move to the next job?

Schedule an equipment move with the machine, truck, trailer, driver and the time it must be available at the destination. Or tell STRACTA what you need, and it creates the move for you to review.
