STRACTA for dispatchers

You turn foremen's requests, plant orders and broker bookings into a plan that has to be right before the first truck rolls. STRACTA gives you one board for crews, equipment, company trucks and broker trucks, a clear Draft and Published status, and published updates when the plan changes. Say what you need, and it's on the board.

Revision 2 of the dispatch, published at 10:40 AM, removes broken-down broker truck CB-17 from Harborview Corridor, moves OV-05 over from Ridgeline Road and notifies both foremen in the app.

The job

What you're responsible for.

  1. Turning foremen's requests into tomorrow's plan
  2. Placing people, crews, machines and trucks on each job
  3. Booking broker trucks and setting report times and places
  4. Scheduling equipment moves between jobs
  5. Handling substitutions when something breaks down

In STRACTA

What you see and do.

On a computer, in the full STRACTA workspace. What you can open depends on your role.

  • One board for the day

Every project with its crew, equipment, company fleet and broker trucks, plus the availability of people and equipment.

  • Draft, then published

Build the plan in draft and publish it when it's ready. Crews see their assignment once it is published.

  • Published updates

Edit an assignment and publish an update. The dispatch shows the new revision, and affected users get an in-app notification.

  • Broker trucks and moves

Record daily broker bookings and schedule equipment moves with the machine, truck, trailer, driver and destination availability time.

Access depends on your company's setup

Dispatchers typically have permission to build, edit and publish the daily dispatch, and to manage broker truck bookings and equipment moves. Access to team administration and other areas depends on the permissions your company assigns.

A day in STRACTA

One day, hour by hour.

This role's part of one Tuesday at a paving contractor, from the first publish to the record of the day.

  1. Dana K. reviews the draft board: four projects, 24 people, 12 pieces of equipment and 10 broker trucks from three brokers.

  2. Dana publishes revision 1, and each foreman sees their crew's assignment in My Day.

  3. With BT-02 down at the paver, Dana moves BT-08 from Ridgeline Road to Harborview and publishes revision 2. Marco D. and Frank O. get an in-app notification.

  4. Dana posts in the Harborview Corridor channel that BT-08's first load should reach the paver around 1:00.

  5. She adds a task to reconcile the ticket for the load that wasn't placed, due Wednesday at noon.

  6. Dana schedules move MV-0616-01: paver PV-02 on float FL-01 behind tractor TR-02, driver Dev R., available at Bellwether Pointe by 6:30 AM.

FAQ

Common questions.

What happens when I change a published dispatch?

You edit the assignment and publish an update. The dispatch shows the new revision, and affected users get an in-app notification and see the change in My Day.

Can I add assignments and bookings by voice?

Yes. Tell STRACTA what you need, out loud or in a sentence: “Book three Tallis trucks for Talbridge at 8:20, HL8 out of Stonefield North.” The booking appears on the dispatch, filled in and ready to publish.

Can I see who and what is free before I assign them?

People and equipment carry availability, and company fleet units carry a status, so you can check before placing them. Everything already assigned for the day is visible on the same board.

Can I plan tomorrow's equipment moves?

Yes. Equipment Moves records the machine, truck, trailer, driver, pickup ready time and the time the machine must be available at the destination.
